The casual game "Animal Crossing: City Folk" lets you control characters in a peaceful town where you can do a variety of activities, such as fishing, attending parties with friends or head out for a shopping spree. This 2008 Nintendo Wii title contains a few secrets, including a golden axe that can only be obtained at random in a specific location. You will need to be a philanthropist and give some money to the city before you have a chance of obtaining the golden axe.

Donate 500,000 bells (the game's currency) to the town fund and a fountain will be built in the town.

Go to the fountain and toss a regular axe into the fountain.

Wait to see if you get a silver or golden axe, which is a random reward you may receive from this fountain.

Repeat the process until you get the golden axe. You can buy additional axes at Nook's store for 400 bells.
