How to Take the Front Cover Off My Wii if Something Is Stuck in It

While opening a Wii case isn't a complex process, you can damage it if you don't do it correctly. The object trapped inside the case can cause even more damage if it is attached to any of the wires within. If done carefully, however, you can open your Wii case with only two different types of screwdrivers in about 45 minutes. Then you can remove the caught object, put the Wii back together and play games without harm to your machine.

Instructions

Remove the screws on the side that displays the serial number. It has six screws. One of the screws is underneath the battery tray, in the lower-left corner, and another is under a rubber boot, in the upper left corner.

    • 2

Stand up the Wii so that it faces out as if you were using it. Remove the screws on the left side, one in each of the four corners. Work the faceplate out slowly by pulling one side out, then the other. Disconnect the red and black wires from the faceplate.

    • 3

Remove three screws from the black plate with the memory ports. Pull off the black cover and remove four more screws underneath.

    • 4

Slide off the top part of the case. Pull harder if it appears stuck. If it still doesn't move, you may have missed a screw. Your Wii is now open. Clean out the stuck object and put it back together in reverse order.
