How to Kill the Barroth

In "Monster Hunter Tri," players hunt a variety of creatures in order to make armor or complete quests. In the level Leading the Charge, players need to kill a Barroth. Barroths are large monsters, built like a Tyrannosaurus rex with a powerful tail and some rhinoceros-like qualities, including a horned ridge along the head. The Barroth is a tough monster to kill, but a few strategies can help players conquer the beast.

Instructions

- 1
  Dodge his horn attack. Barroth charges like a bull with his head down. This attack can sometimes kill you outright.

  Avoid the mud Barroth flings when he shakes himself. The mud sticks to you and slows you down, making you easy prey. If you do get covered in mud, keep away from Barroth until it falls off. You can also equip armor that works well with mud, such as Rhenoplos Armor.

  Attack his weak spots. Barroth's hind legs and underbelly are the best place to attack. He is especially vulnerable when he rolls around in the mud, exposing his underbelly. For weapons, use a lance or sword and shield combo.

  Use the Cha-Cha potion to create a distraction. Attack Barroth while he goes after the Cha-Cha.
