How to Play a Split Screen in COD4 for Wii

There are two multiplayer modes available in "Call of Duty 4" for the Nintendo Wii. The first is an online multiplayer mode where your on-screen view takes up your entire television set. The second is a "Local" multiplayer game allowing you to play against someone in the same room. Each on-screen character has a segment of the television screen. This is called "split screen" gaming.

  Insert your "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" game disc into your Nintendo Wii. "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" is the official name of the fourth entry in the "Call of Duty" series of games.

  Select the "Call of Duty" icon from your Wii main menu to load the game.

  Select the "Multiplayer" menu on the "Call of Duty" main menu.

  Select "Local." This indicates to the game that you are not playing a multiplayer online game and are instead playing a game with someone else in the room with you. This will enable the split screen multiplayer mode for the game. Select a map to use for your game and adjust any other settings. When finished, select "Start Game" to play split screen on "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare."
