What Are the GCI Digital Cable Settings to Play a Wii?

Managing multiple electronic components on a single television set is often a concern for consumers. Subscribers to Alaska-based GCI digital cable can enjoy their cable service as well as two additional AV devices through a single AV input on their TVs. You can connect your Nintendo Wii directly to the GCI set-top box receiver and the video and audio will be passed through to your television.
  1. Pace TDC775D Cable Reciever

    • Subscribers to GCI digital cable will receive a Pace TDC775D set-top box receiver. This receiver functions as a DVR and also has high-definition capabilities through HDMI and component outputs.

    AV Pass-Through

    • The Pace TDC775 also includes the ability to pass video and audio signals through via two input ports. Component inputs allow for high-definition and progressive-scan images to be sent through the cable receiver and to your television. Composite inputs allow you to pass standard-definition video and audio through.

    Setup

    • To connect the Nintendo Wii to your TV through the GCI cable receiver, connect the Wii AV cables to the yellow, red and white composite input port on the back of the cable receiver and connect the composite output port above the input port to your TV with another set of composite cables. If you have the component AV cables for your Wii, you can use those and connect the cable receiver to your TV with a set of component cables.

    Activate Baseband Loopthrough

    • To activate the pass-through, also known as baseband loopthrough, turn off the cable receiver so that it is in standby mode. The LED indicator next to the power button on the receiver will go red. Turn on your Wii and your TV and you will be able to view the Wii's AV signal through the cable receiver.
