How to Uninstall a Wii Update

Occasionally Nintendo will release updates for the software that runs your Wii gaming console. These updates are downloaded directly to the console via its Internet connection. If you want to uninstall an update that you've downloaded for your Wii, the only way you can do so is by rolling the entire device back to its original factory settings. This is accomplished via the Wii menu.

     Turn on your Nintendo Wii.

     Select the "Wii" button on your Nintendo Wii's "Wii Channels" main menu.

     Open the "Wii Settings" menu.

     Navigate to the third page of options in the "Wii Settings" menu and select "Format Wii System Memory." From the page that appears, select "Format." This will return your Wii to factory settings, uninstalling all updates that have downloaded to the console.
