Game Disc Will Not Read on Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii is a video game system that includes wireless controllers and a motion sensor bar. The system loads video games that are the size of CD-ROMs and has built-in memory. If you insert a disc and receive a message that says, "Unable to read the disc," then you must troubleshoot your disc to get it to read. It's important to properly connect your Wii and correctly insert your disc.

Instructions

  Press the "Eject" button on your Nintendo Wii and then hold down the "Power" button until it turns red. Press the "Power" button again to turn on your Wii.

  Insert your game disc with the label facing to the right if the Wii is sitting up vertically, or with the label facing up if the Wii is placed horizontally.

  Eject the game and insert another game if the error still occurs. If the error doesn't occur with other games, then clean the disc using a dampened cloth. Wipe from the center of the disc straight out, not in circles.

  Use a dry cloth to dry and remove any dirt from the disc, always wiping from the center of the disc straight out as opposed to in circles. Insert the game to see if the error still occurs.

  Contact Nintendo Support if your game still isn't working, or if all other games will not play on your system.
