Insert the SD card into the SD card reader of the computer.
Download the latest Wii cIOS file. Open the computer's Web browser and navigate to a website that provides the latest Wii cIOS file for download. Download the file to the computer.
Download the "Gamecube Backup Launcher." Navigate to a website that provides the "Gamecube Backup Launcher" application for download. Download the file to the computer.
Use a program such as Winrar, Winzip or Stuffit Expander to extract to contents of the downloaded files.
Drag the extracted files to the "Apps" folder on the SD card.
Eject the SD card from the computer and insert it into the SD slot on the Wii console.
Load the installer program. Turn on the Wii, connect it to the Internet and select the "Homebrew Channel." Click on the "cIOS Installer" application and select the "Load" option.
Install the program. Press "Left" and "Right" on the D-pad until "IOS249" is selected. Press the "A" button. Allow two to three minutes for the installation to finish, then return to "Homebrew Channel."
Load the "MIOS Patcher" program onto the "Homebrew Channel." Click on the "MIOS Patcher" program and select the "Load" option.
Install the patch. Plug the Gamecube controller into the Wii system. Press "A" on the Gamecube controller to install the patch. Allow about a minutes for this process to finish, then return to the "Homebrew Channel."
Play your Gamecube backup disc. Click on the "Gamecube Backup Launcher" application and select the "Load" option. Insert the backup Gamecube disc into the Wii system. Press the "A" button on the Gamecube controller to begin playing the backup disc.
