How to Gain Skill Points in Wii Sports Tennis

In Nintendo's Wii Sports Tennis, one to four players can face off against one another in cooperative or competitive doubles tennis matches. The Wii's unique motion detection system allows for players to use motions similar to real life tennis in order to control their player's swings, swats and smashes. The game employs a skill points system that helps match players, and rewards good performances against difficult opponents. The concept behind increasing your skill points is simple, but becomes increasingly difficult as you go.

Instructions

  1. Gaining Skill Points

    • 1

Play a one-player match versus the computer, or a two-player cooperative match. There are no skill points awarded for three or four player games.

    • 2

Play through the single-player game mode, without changing the computer controlled team.

    • 3

Accrue wins against the opposing team. The difference between your skill level and the opponent's will determine how many skill points you receive--if your level is higher, you will receive less points, or possibly even lose points, whereas you will gain more points against more skilled opponents.

    • 4

Continue beating higher and higher skilled opponents. As you get to higher skill levels, gaining points will become more difficult. Beating the computer players may not be enough--you may have to beat them by a certain margin or under specific conditions to gain skill points, or prevent the loss of skill points.
