How to Temporarily Sync a Wii Controller

Up to four players can play together on a single Nintendo Wii console, but before a Wii controller can be used with the console, it needs to be synced. One method of syncing a Wii controller is with "One Time Mode Synchronization," which creates a temporary sync. This is useful if you have friends who are using their own Wii controllers that you do not own, since the syncs will expire after powering the Wii down.

Instructions

  Press the "Home" button on the front of your Wii controller. At the bottom of your TV screen, you will see "Wii Remote Settings." Select it using the "A" button on the controller.

  Choose "Reconnect." A message will appear indicating that you can now sync multiple Wii controllers.

  Press the "1" and "2" buttons at the same time on the Wii controller you want to sync. At the bottom of the controller, the "Player" light will blink until it is synced. If you are adding multiple controllers, sync each controller separately and in the order you prefer.
