How to Disable a Nunchuck for DDR on the Wii

The game "Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party" is a dance and rhythm game for Wii. Like the other games in this series, the Wii version requires a player to use a dance pad controller to respond to timed prompts on the screen. Because the Wii is a motion-sensitive gaming system, this version of DDR also has a system called "Hand Markers" that require the player to use the Wiimote and nunchuck controllers simultaneous to the dance pad. This added element can make some songs much more difficult as the player has to properly perform both hand and feet motions.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the settings for the game as you normally would. This includes choosing the number of players and the player difficulty.

    • 2

Confirm these settings for each player to enter the song list screen.

    • 3

Select the "Options" menu from the song list screen. This menu allows you to change the overall settings during gameplay.

    • 4

Scroll down until you see the "Hand Markers" option and switch the setting to "Off."

    • 5

Confirm the changes and exit the menu to return to the song list.

    • 6

Choose a song you would like to play. When it loads, the Hand Markers should no longer appear and you can play the game without the Wiimote and nunchuck.
