Open your Web browser and navigate to the Wii Video 9 homepage. Click the "Download Now" link. When the file finishes downloading, install the program onto your computer.
Open the Wii Video 9 program. From the dropdown menu, select the firmware that you currently have installed on your Wii. Your current firmware can be found in the "System Information" section of your Wii console.
Click the "Video" button on the left side of the window followed by the "Convert New File" button in the new window that appears. For the simplest conversion process, select "Normal Mode" from the menu.
Click the "Select File" button and locate the file you wish to convert. Once you have located the file, click "Open," choose the location where you would like the converted file to be saved and input the title of the newly converted file in the space provided.
Click the "Start Converting" button to begin the video conversion process. Allow several minutes for the video conversion to finish.
Plug your SD card into your SD card reader. Plug your SD card reader into your computer if it is not already. Open your SD card directory and copy your newly converted video file onto your SD card. Safely eject your SD card from your computer.
Plug your SD card into the SD slot on the front of your Wii console. Select the "Wii Photo Channel" from the Wii home menu and select your SD card from the following menu. A text box will appear saying "1 Movie Found."
Click the "View" button. If your movie plays, you have successfully created a video file that can be played on the Wii game console.
