The Nintendo Wii is an all-in-one entertainment system, providing games, a DVD player, Internet access and an SD card slot for photos and movies. According to Nintendo, the Wii supports AVI and Quicktime movie files. To begin viewing movies, users will need an SD card and an update of the Wii's menu to version 4.0. Using a computer, users can transfer movies onto their SD card and then to the Wii, which supports the following memory cards: SD, SDHC, mini and micro SD cards.

Transfer your AVI movie files from your computer onto a compatible SD card.

Turn off the Wii.

Open the memory card slot cover and insert your SD card.

Turn on the Wii. From the main menu, select the SD card icon that appears. Using the Wii remote, select the AVI movie you wish to play.
