The Rock Band 2 Drums Won't Work on the Wii

"Rock Band 2" for the Nintendo Wii video game console allows gamers to experience hundreds of songs from multiple musical genres using specially designed instrument controllers. Up to four players at one time can experience guitar, drum and vocal-based gameplay. In the event that something causes your drum controller to cease proper functioning, a number of troubleshooting steps can be taken to return the instrument to proper operation.

  Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the drum set body. Remove the batteries and replace with new batteries. Replace the battery compartment cover. Ensure that the switch on the bottom of the drum set is flipped to "On."

  Unplug the orange drum pedal plug from the back of the drum set body. Reinsert the plug, ensuring that it inserts snugly into the orange port on the drum set.

  Remove the USB dongle from your Wii console. Reinsert the USB dongle into the USB port on the Wii.

  Turn on your Wii console. Press the drum icon button on the center control panel of the drum set, located between the yellow and blue drum pads. The light ring around the button will flash blue. Press the sync button on the Wii's USB dongle. Press the gray sync button on the backside of the drumset. The Wii will synchronize the drum set to the console.

  Insert the "Rock Band 2" disk into the Wii and begin the game. Choose a song to play and test the drums. If they still do not function, you will need to contact Electronic Arts Customer Service.
