How to Transfer SD Card Games Into Your Wii

In addition to the two slots available for GameCube memory cards, the Nintendo Wii supports Secure Digital (SD) memory cards for saved game data, digital music files, photos and more. The Wii Menu 4.0 also added the capability to launch Wii channels, including downloaded Virtual Console and WiiWare games, to the SD card to free up storage on the Wii itself. Not all channels can be moved, but downloaded games can be transferred between the Wii and a SD card as often as you like.

     Insert the SD card into the memory card slot on the front of the Wii.

     Use the Wii Remote or Classic Controller to select the "Wii Settings" button at the bottom left corner of the screen.

     Open the "Data Management" menu.

     Select "Wii Channels."

     Click on the "SD Card" tab at the top right corner of the screen.

     Choose the game you wish to copy to the Wii. Click on the "Copy" button.
