How to Connect a Nintendo Wii With a Linksys Wireless WRT160N

The Nintendo Wii game console allows users to connect to the Internet using the system's built-in Wi-Fi adapter. Although the Wii is compatible with almost every wireless router available, certain routers--including the Linksys WRT160N--require gamers to make minor adjustments to the Wii and the router in order to get a stable wireless connection.

Instructions

  1. Customize the Linksys WRT160N Settings

    • 1

Use your computer to log into the Linksys WRT160N wireless router by typing "http://192.168.1.1" into a web browser's Internet address bar.

    • 2

Enter your user name and password to access the Linksys WRT160N's options.

    • 3

Select "Basic Wireless Settings," then click the "Wireless" tab.

    • 4

Change your "Channel" to either "1" or "11."

    • 5
