How to Get Free Wii Points, Codes & Updates

One feature of the Nintendo Wii video game console is the ability to download games from the Internet via a broadband internet connection. Nearly all of these games, however, cost Wii Points and it can be prohibitively expensive to download too many of them. The best way to get free Wii Points and free game download codes is to register your Nintendo Wii with Nintendo. Registering your Nintendo Wii will also give you free game updates.

Registering Your Nintendo Wii

  Register for a Club Nintendo account on Nintendo's website. You will need to provide them with your date of birth, e-mail address and some basic contact information.

  Log into your Club Nintendo account.

  Click on the "Earn Coins" button. It is the second option at the top of the screen.

  Scroll down to the "Register Purchased Products" box and enter the serial number from your Wii into that box. The serial number is located on the back of your Wii system and is the string of numbers that begins with two letters (such as "WW" or "TT"). Your Wii is now registered with Nintendo. Nintendo will now occasionally e-mail you with promotional codes for free Wii points, codes for free Wii games, and provide updates to your games.
