How to Link Nintendo Wii Consoles

The Nintendo Wii is the latest home system from Nintendo. It is an innovative console that lets the most avid and experienced gamer play with someone who has never even lifted a controller thanks to its inventive motion sensing technology. Players also can go head-to-head by linking their Wiis online.

Connect the Wii to the Internet. For a wired connection, plug the chord from the Internet router into the back of the Wii in the corresponding slot. For wireless, use the Wii Remote to click the "Wii" icon in the lower left hand of the screen. Select "Wii Settings," then "Internet." Select "Wireless," then "Search for An Access Point." The Wii will find available Internet signals.

Interact with other Wii users. All Wiis can be connected by the Internet. Link one Wii to another to play or share information by adding a friend. Add a friend by obtaining his user name then message him by clicking the message icon in the lower right hand corner and filling out the form. Someone accepting the invitation will then link the Wiis.

Play other Wii owners by playing a game both players own and sending an invitation using each game's individual settings. Share media by attaching the desired media to messages sent from one Wii to another. For example a picture can be sent by accessing the Wii's Photo Channel, selecting a photo and then selecting share or post.
