Plug the video distribution amplifier into a wall outlet. Ensure that the video distribution amplifier is within two feet of your Wii and TV.
Locate the composite cable that is packaged with the Wii. Plug the black end of this cable into the back of the Wii. Plug the yellow, red, and white ends into the input section of the video distribution amplifier.
Plug the yellow, red, and white ends of one of the composite cables into the output section of the video distribution amplifier. Plug the other ends of this cable into the input section of your DVD recorder.
Plug the yellow, red, and white ends of the last remaining composite cable into the output section of the video distribution amplifier. Plug the other ends of this cable into the input section of your TV.
Ensure that the DVD recorder is set to record the correct input source, which is the source into which you plugged the composite cable. Many DVD recorders have more than one input source. The input sources might be labeled as "EXT 1" and "EXT 2" in the input section on the back of your DVD recorder. Repeatedly push the source button on the DVD remote to cycle through the input sources. The currently selected input source will appear on the DVD recorder's display screen.
Insert a blank DVD into your DVD recorder, and push the record button on your DVD recorder. Begin playing the Wii game of your choice, and your gameplay footage will be recorded onto the DVD.
