Connecting Wii Speak
Turn off your Wii console.
Plug the Wii Speak's USB cord into one of the USB ports on the back of your Wii.
Remove the anti-slip pad liners from the bottom of the Wii Speak microphone. Do not remove pads.
Place the Wii Speak microphone on top of your Wii's Sensor Bar by lining up the rib on the bottom of the microphone with the groove on the Sensor Bar. You can also set the microphone on top of or underneath your television, as long as it is centered with your television and isn't obstructed, or near your television's speakers.
Turn on your Wii console.
Select "Wii Shop Channel."
Select "Settings and Features."
Select "Wii Download Ticket." One is included with your Wii Speak microphone.
Enter the 16-digit code on the back of the Wii Download Ticket into the rectangle.
Select the "Now" option. The download will start. When the download is finished, the Wii Speak Channel appears on the Wii Menu.
Using Wii Speak
Select Wii Speak Channel from the Wii Menu.
Select "Lobby." A list of friends who are also chatting will appear.
Aim the Wii Remote at the Mii of the friend with whom you would like to talk. The "OK to Chat" message will appear to let you know you can talk to them. Press the "A" button.
Select "Yes" to enter the Chat Room.
