How to Hook Up Mario Kart Online for Wii

Play Mario Kart online on a console for the first time with Mario Kart Wii. You can play vs. mode or battle mode online against strangers or your friends (if you have their friend code). You̵7;ll need a high-speed Internet connection, as the Nintendo Wii doesn̵7;t support dial-up.

Instructions

      Ensure your Nintendo Wii is connected to the Internet. Test your Wii̵7;s Internet connection by clicking the ̶0;Wii̶1; icon on the main screen, then click ̶0;Wii Settings,̶1; scroll to the second page and click ̶0;Internet.̶1; Select ̶0;Connection Settings,̶1; select the applicable connection and then select ̶0;Connection test.̶1;

      Insert the Mario Kart Wii game disc once you̵7;ve established a working Internet connection. Start Mario Kart Wii.

      Select ̶0;Nintendo WFC̶1; from the Mario Kart Wii main menu.

      Select ̶0;Worldwide̶1; or ̶0;Regional̶1; to play against random opponents around the world or in your region. Choose ̶0;Race̶1; or ̶0;Battle̶1; depending on which mode you want to play. Select your character and vehicle, and then wait as the network finds random opponents. You will have the option to vote on a course before you play.

      Select ̶0;Friends̶1; to play with people you know. Choose ̶0;Register a friend̶1; to input a friend code. You will need to do this before you can play with that friend.

      Select ̶0;Create a room̶1; to start your own game or ̶0;Find a friend̶1; to join a game created by one of your friends. Whoever created the room will be in charge of selecting the game mode and starting the race or battle.
