How to Resync a Wii Controller

You should resync your Nintendo Wii controller if it is struggling to communicate with the console. Whenever you bring a Wii Remote to a friend̵7;s house, you̵7;ll have to sync it with the new console. And when you return home, you̵7;ll have to sync it back to your own.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn on your Wii and press the ̶0;A̶1; button on the Wii Remote. If the four blue lights blink rapidly and then shut off, you need to resync the remote.

      Open the small SD card hatch on the front of your Wii. Press the red ̶0;Sync̶1; button.

      Remove the battery cover from your Wii Remote and locate the small red ̶0;Sync̶1; button. Press it.

    • 4

      Wait as the four blue lights on your Wii Remote flash. If the sync is successful, the first light (for Player 1) will stay solid and the other three will go out.
