How to Customize a Wii

Customizing your Nintendo Wii console is much more than simply creating your "Mii." Having a truly customized Wii means it looks custom even when it's turned off and sitting on your entertainment center. This can be done with custom Wii skins, stickers made for electronic devices. With a few clicks of your mouse, you'll be able to add personal photos, digital artwork and text to your Wii.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit one of the many skin-creating websites that are available online to help you customize special stickers for your electronic devices, including the Nintendo Wii. Some of these sites are SkinIt.com, LeftSkins.com, UniqueSkins.com and DecalGirl.com. While the steps here are for LeftSkins.com, they should be similar on other sites.

    • 2

Click on "Nintendo" under the Products menu on the left-hand side of the page. Select the Nintendo Wii from the options available. Look through the already-made skins available for purchase to see if there's something that fits your personality. If there is, click on that skin and buy it online. If you'd like to create a custom skin with your own digital artwork or photos, continue to Step 3.

    • 3

Click on the banner at the top of the page that says "Make Your Own." Click on the "Customize It" button on the following page to be taken to the design-your-own tool. Add your own image to the front of your custom Wii skin by using the "Upload Image" button in the design tool. Use a digital photo or your own digital artwork from your computer. Use the editing tools provided to move, rotate or resize your image once it has appeared on the custom skin template. Add text to your Wii skin using the "Add Text" button on the template. You can also add clip art images instead of, or in addition to, your own artwork on your skin.

Play around with different text and images for the front section of your Wii skin before moving onto the next section. When you're ready, click on the "Side One" image at the bottom of the template. Repeat Step 3 for each side of the Wii skin. Preview each side multiple times to ensure your custom Wii skin looks exactly how you'd like it to look on your Wii. Check for any spelling errors or other errors before proceeding.

Click "Add to Cart" to purchase your Wii skin, or click "Email" to send your design to yourself or friends for purchasing at a later time. When the Wii skin comes to you in the mail, read the instructions carefully on how to place the skin onto your Nintendo Wii console.
