How to Clean Nintendo Wii

Nintendo revolutionized the gaming world in November 2006 when it released the Wii platform. The Wii is characterized by new controller which allows gamers to interface on a more physical level with the games they play. Instead of sitting idly by while mashing buttons, many Wii games require users to stand, imitate the action on the screen and otherwise become more active during game play. While the Wii is mainly about fun, the console itself is still a precision piece of electronics. Care must be taken when cleaning the Wii.

Instructions

    • 1

Dust the outside of the Wii carefully with one of the dusting cloths to remove all the dust from the console exterior. Use special care to remove dust at the vents, so the particles do not get pushed inside the Wii.

    • 2

Moisten the second dusting cloth with Windex, using care not to soak the cloth, then wipe down the exterior of the Wii. Make sure you do not get any liquids inside the console.

    • 3

Hit the eject button on the Wii to make sure no game discs are inside.

    • 4

Put three drops of cleaning fluid from the Wii Lens Cleaning Kit on the cleaning pad's exposed portion, found on the cleaning disc.

    • 5

Insert the cleaning disc into the Wii, top side up, with the blue lines parallel to the Wii faceplate.

    • 6

Wait five seconds, then firmly grip the tab on the lens cleaning disc and move it side to side about 3/4-inch. Repeat this 20 times and then return the handle to the center position and hit eject.
