Things You'll Need
Instructions
Do a wheelie by choosing to ride one of the bikes to race in, instead of a car. When in a straight stretch at optimal speed, flip your wrist upward to have the character pop a wheelie. To come down from the wheelie, flick the Wii remote downward.
Do tricks in mid-air by shaking the remote. The tricks you do depend on the character you chose as well as the vehicle being used. A Wii character can get in the air when it hits a jump in the game. It will get an extra boost when it lands if it does a trick in the middle of a jump.
Block turtle shells from hitting the character. A turtle shell can slow down the character and make it lose ground or get passed by other players. If a turtle shell is thrown at the character being controlled, simply hold the "A" button on the remote instead of pressing and releasing it. When the turtle shell hits the character, it will be able to block the shell as long as the "A" button is being held and it already has a shell or a banana to use for blocking purposes.
Start the race with a boost by accelerating at the right time. When the countdown appears on the screen just before a race begins, wait for the "2" to appear on the screen. Press and hold the acceleration button when the "2" appears. This allows the character to get an extra boost from the starting line.
Pass the clouds to another player. A cloud overhead of the character means that it will shrink within the next few seconds. This significantly slows down the character. When the cloud appears, run into another character that is nearby on the screen. This will pass the cloud along to the other character.
