Disney designed the online, interactive game, "Club Penguin," as a virtual world for children to encourage creativity. Players design a penguin avatar, which they use to talk to friends, play games and take part in other activities. Penguins can earn coins by playing games. By redeeming the coins, players can buy items for their avatars, such as clothes and instruments. "Club Penguin" is free; however, there is also a membership option for users who want access to more features.

  Purchase a membership if you do not already have one. Only members can buy trombones on "Club Penguin." At the time of publication, membership costs $7.95 for a month, $39.95 for six months and $59.95 for a year.

  Play games to earn 500 coins, which is the price of a trombone. You can only earn coins and cannot purchase them or obtain them from another player.

  Click on the catalog icon on the bottom-right side of the screen to open the ̶0;Penguin Style̶1; or ̶0;Snow and Sports̶1; catalog.

  Find the trombone. The catalog changes, so the trombone may not be available at all times, but you can check again at a later date. The ̶0;Penguin Style̶1; catalog is updated monthly.

  Click on the trombone. Click on ̶0;Yes̶1; when a screen appears, asking if you want to buy the item.
