Worlds
The levels in an Angry Bird game combine to create worlds. Most worlds contain groups of 15 levels, though a few worlds have up to 18 levels in the same group. At the time of publishing, the Angry Birds game has a total of six worlds, though the game continues to expand and provide new worlds. Angry Birds never releases a new world unless there are at least 15 levels ready for play.
Unlocking
You must successfully complete one level before the next level is unlocked for you to play. A locked level is gray with the image of a lock on it -- once unlocked, the level has color to it and the number of the level is in white. Complete a level by using the birds provided to destroy all of the pigs. Angry Birds automatically unlocks the next level, and you may return to any level once it is unlocked.
Stars
A maximum of three stars may be achieved in each level. When you complete a level by destroying all of the birds, you are guaranteed to earn one star. Successfully complete the level with a higher score, and you will earn more stars. Even after you have achieved three stars, you can still continue to play a level to earn and try to earn a higher score.
Scoring
All Angry Birds levels are scored the same way. Each pig that you destroy is worth 5,000 points, and if you complete the level and still have remaining birds, each extra bird is worth 10,000 points. Other pieces, such as wood planks from a structure surrounding some of the level's pigs are typically worth 500 points a piece. Some levels also have bonus pieces, such as crystals, worth 3,000 points.
