Midsummer Festival in World of Warcraft

"World of Warcraft" hosts in-game special festivals throughout the year, with special vendors and quest givers in cities, holiday items and food items. The Midsummer Fire Festival coincides with the summer solstice and is present in the game world from June 21 to July 4. The Midsummer Fire Festival spreads bonfires throughout Azeroth that you may choose to honor or desecrate, depending on which factional city you're in.
  1. Quests

    • The Midsummer Fire Festival has many different quests, most of which deal with honoring your faction's bonfires while desecrating the bonfires of the enemy faction. Each bonfire has a quest associated with it. Other festival quests include defeating the holiday boss, delivering incense and playing a torch tossing game.

    Buffs

    • Player characters benefit from several holiday buffs over the course of the festival. The festival nonplayer characters, or NPCs, erect ribbon poles that add a 10-percent monster experience buff. Other buffs available increase your critical strike rating, adds a 30-percent chance to deal fire damage and raises your stamina. Players trigger festival buffs through interaction with the bonfires and burning blossoms.

    Achievements and Titles

    • Players gain achievement points during the Midsummer Fire Festival by participating in many different quests and activities over the two-week holiday period. Players earn between 10 points for each achievement, for a total of 120 achievement points during the festival. Some examples of Midsummer Fire Festival achievement requirements include killing the holiday boss, Ahune, honoring all of the bonfires on each continent and juggling torches. Players gain the title "The Flame Keeper" by completing the festival achievements.

    Boss

    • The Midsummer Fire Festival opens up access to a special holiday boss named Ahune. This boss lives in the Slave Pens dungeon in the Outlands. You do not need to travel to the Outlands to fight him, however. Players can port directly to the dungeon and the boss spawn point by using the Dungeon Finder during the Midsummer Fire Festival. Ahune attacks players in two distinct phases, sending waves of monsters at the group. Ahune uses a damage reduction shield during the first phase that prevents 75% of damage. Earthen Ring NPCs lower this shield once you wipe out the monster spawns and force Ahune into phase two. Players damage Ahune as quickly as possible during phase two, as he will raise the shield once again and return to phase one.
