How to Get a Ski Bum Badge

Foursquare is a social networking site based on location. Users "check in" to various locations using GPS-enabled phones or other devices. Users receive points and badges for checking in to different locations. Badges are icons awarded to the player for checking into a location a certain number of times or on a specific date. When a user earns a badge, it is displayed in their profile indefinitely. The "Ski Bum" badge is available to users who check in to designated "ski areas" multiple times.

Instructions

  Travel to an area designated as a "ski area" on Foursquare. In the United States, this includes almost all ski resorts and popular skiing locations.

  Use your mobile device to check in three times on three different days at the "ski area." It does not have to be the same ski area, nor do the days have to be consecutive. You receive a message informing you that the Ski Bum badge is unlocked.
- 3
  Become the mayor of a "ski area" to unlock the badge as well. This route is easier if the ski resort is not popular on Foursquare or has few check-ins.
