How to Open the Aesthetics Door in Final Fantasy XII

Behind the Aesthetics Door in "Final Fantasy XII" lies the realm of Hell Wyrm, the strongest and most powerful enemy in the game. This fight will take at least two hours to complete even if your characters are at level 80 or higher. The door can be unlocked only after you complete a mini-quest on the Cherobi Steppe. Montblonc will pay you 50,000 gil the next time you talk to him at the Clan Hall as a reward for defeating Hell Wyrm.

Instructions

  Talk to the Viera in Balfonheim; she will ask you to kill the Vyrral. Follow her instructions to find the Vyrral after you accept the challenge. Defeat the Vyrall to receive a dragon scale and some belongings that were taken from the Viera.

  Return to the Viera in Balfonheim to return her belongings and receive your reward for defeating the Vyrall. Go to windmill No. 10 in Cerobi Steppe and talk to the dragon philosopher who is standing on top of the windmill. Trade the dragon scale to the philosopher to receive the Ageworn key.

  Run back to Balfonheim and use the crystal to teleport to Sochen Cave Palace. Defeat the monsters along the way to Destiny's March. Enter the Hall of the Aesthetic from the south.

  Open the first Door of Hours at the lower left-hand side of the screen. Walk clockwise, opening each Door of Hours. Walk to the Aesthetic's Door after you see the on-screen message that the door has opened.
- 5
  Prepare your characters for battle by enabling healing gambits. Save your game at this point. Open the Aesthetic's Door with the Ageworn key. Engage the Hell Wyrm in battle.
