My Metal Gear Solid 2 Disc Will Not Play When I'm Starting a New Game

"Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Patriots" is a video game for the PlayStation 2. If you are attempting to play the game and certain parts don't work or the disc skips, then most likely the disc is dirty or scratched. Dust, fingerprints and scratches will affect a playability of your disc, but you can remedy this with a simple cleaning of your game.

Things You'll Need

Toothpaste
Soft cleaning cloth

Instructions

  Put a dab of toothpaste onto the soft cloth.

  Rub the toothpaste gently onto the playing surface of the disc. Start from the center of the disc and move outwards to the edge. Only swipe in straight lines from the center outwards. Do not rub in circles, as this will further damage the disc.

  Use water to completely remove all of the toothpaste from the disc. This will remove dirt, dust and smudges and repair minor scratches.

  Use a dry part of the soft cloth to completely dry the disc. Rub in straight lines instead of circles.

  Place the game back into your PS2 and play it.
