Do It Yourself Football Centerpieces

Table centerpieces add accent to family dinners and special occasions. They also hallmark festive events such as the Super Bowl or your local homecoming game. Making football centerpieces allows you the ability to mix and match a variety of items to create stunning tabletop centerpieces. From simplistic pride centerpieces to signature team banquet decor, making a table football centerpiece proves to be a crafty endeavor for even the novice craft hobbyist.

Things You'll Need

Serving platter
Foam craft ball (football shape and size)
Small silk flowers (100)
Scissors
Flat glass marbles(100)
Tea light candles (2)

Instructions

  Place the football shaped craft foam in the center of the serving platter. Choose a clear serving platter for this craft.

  Snip the stems from all of the small silk flowers, leaving about two inches of stem on each flower. Cut the stems downward at an angle to make them pointed. Small flower varieties include baby's breath, chamomile, daisies and others.

  Insert each flower into the foam football, pushing until only the underside of the blossom rests on the foam. Repeat this with all of your cut flower blossoms until the entire surface of the football is covered with flowers.

  Spread about a pound of flat-backed glass marbles around the floral football on the serving platter.

  Place a tea light candle at each side of the serving platter, embedded in the glass marbles. Once lit, the colorful glass beads shimmer and the football becomes illuminated.
