How to Burn PS2 Games with Imgburn

The Sony Playstation 2 video game console can play games on a DVD or dual-layer DVD media. Like any other data placed on DVD formats, you can make disc images out of them for backup purposes in case you lose the original PS2 game. In order to burn these disc images on a blank DVD to play the game on a PlayStation 2, you must use a freeware utility called ImgBurn.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer with DVD-RW drive or External DVD-RW drive
  • Blank DVD or dual-layer DVD

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Mode" menu item in ImgBurn and click "Write."

    • 2

Click the "Open File" button in the "Source" box. The icon looks like an open folder with a magnifying glass.

    • 3

Look for the ISO or MDS file that represents the PlayStation 2 game image. Double-click the file.

    • 4

Set your drive's write speed to half its maximum. This increases the chances of a successful burn.

    • 5

Set the "Destination" to the drive of the blank DVD or dual-layer DVD using the combo box.

    • 6

Click the "Write" button below the "Destination" box. The button has a green arrow in between a hard disk and disc icon. Wait for the progress bar to fill up.
