How to Burn PS2 Games Using Nero

Your PlayStation 2's game discs are sensitive media items. The smallest scratch on the wrong portion of the disc can cause data on the disc to become unreadable, rendering your disc no more useful than a coaster. For this reason, some PlayStation users prefer to back up their games using a DVD-R drive. A variety of programs can burn backups of PlayStation 2 games, but one of the most widely available is the popular CD-burning program Nero.

Things You'll Need

  • Original PlayStation 2 disc
  • PC with DVD-R drive running Nero

    • 3

Select "Wizard" from the launch screen.

    • 4

Click "DVD," then "Next," then "Copy a DVD," then "Next."

    • 5

Select the drive letter that your DVD-R drive is assigned to. To find your DVD drive, open "My Computer" and look for a DVD icon. The letter next to this icon is your DVD drive.

    • 6

Clear the box marked "Copy on the Fly," then select "Next." In the "Write Speed" box, select the slowest speed for best results.

    • 7

Click "Burn." Nero will begin reading the data on your PlayStation 2 game.

    • 8

Insert the blank DVD-R media when prompted by the computer. Your PlayStation 2 game will be burned to this DVD.
