Key
Guitar Hero 3 uses combinations of colors on the guitar handle to access the cheat code results. The guitars have five colors: orange (O), yellow (Y), blue (B), red (R) and green (G). Each key stroke in a code is separated by a comma; occasionally two letters will appear together before a comma, indicating that two colors must be stuck simultaneously.
Hyper Speed
For those serious Guitar Hero players who are no longer challenged on Expert mode, the Hyper Speed cheat will be a formidable challenge. The Hyper Speed cheat makes the notes on the screen go much faster than the usual top speed. The cheat combination to unlock this mode is O, B, O, Y, O, B, O, Y.
Easy Expert
For players looking for a break, Easy Expert cheat can be a very big help. It increases the size of the timing window, giving an extra second or two to hit the right buttons. Unfortunately, you cannot use this code in career mode. The code is GR, GY, YB, RB, BO, YO, RY, RB.
Performance Mode
Should you feel like watching the performance of a song only and hiding notes, guitars and side menus, Performance Mode cheat is the way to go: RY, RB, RO, RB, RY, GB, RY, RB.
Unlock All Songs
If you do not want to go through the entire career mode to play your favorite songs, a rather long combination of keys will unlock them all: YO, RB, RO, GB, RY, YO, RY, RB, GY, GY, YB, YB, YO, YO, YB, Y, R, RY, R, Y, O.
