How to Kill Garl Vinland in Demon's Souls

"Demon's Souls" is an action adventure role-playing video game for the PlayStation 3 developed by From Software. Garl Vinland is one of the non-playable characters (NPCs) that you are able to fight. He is the bodyguard of NPC Maiden Astraea and will battle anyone who threatens either of their safety. Vinland uses healing spells and occasionally uses the spell God's Wrath, but mostly he will use melee attacks with his Bramd. He is also equipped with a Dark Silver Armor set.

Instructions

  Trap Vinland by luring him up the path until he will no longer come any further towards you. Here it is easy to roll backwards out of the way if he is about to attack with his Bramd. The overhang above him will also protect you from some of his attacks as they rebound off of the wall, leaving him open to attack as he regains his composure.

  Roll backwards out of Vinland's reach whenever you start to run low on hit points and use any healing abilities you have. He won't move past the spot on the path beneath the overhang so you will be safe to heal yourself during the battle while Vinland can't reach you.

  Use Fire magic if you are a magic using character because Vinland's Dark Silver Shield only has a FireCut of 70 percent. This will allow you to kill him more easily if you use spells such as Flame Toss at a distance. You can cast this spell ranged while locked on to him to deal easy damage effectively.
