How to Get the Gloom Armor in Demon's Souls

"Demon's Souls" is an action role-playing video game for the PlayStation 3 console. In it you control a custom-designed character who is battling demons that have come from a cursed fog. In the game you are able to upgrade items such as your weapons, magic and armor. The Gloom Armor is a particularly powerful set of armor. To acquire the Gloom Armor, you must defeat Yurt, the Silent Chief.

Instructions

  Make your way to the second, smaller tower in the Fool's Idol Archstone level, in World 3-2. Climb up to the forth level of this tower and follow the short bridge past the small cages used to lower you down.

  Drop down off of the end of the bridge onto another bridge. Here you will see the imprisoned Yurt, the Silent Chief in a cage. Do not attack Yurt before talking to and freeing him first, or you will effectively strand yourself here.

  Free Yurt, the Silent Chief. Once you free him, he will stay on this platform until you leave the area. Before you leave, attack him to start the battle. If you leave without battling him, he will begin murdering nonplayable characters. Once you attack him, he will become hostile towards you.

  Defeat Yurt. An easy way to do so is to cast a Poison Cloud spell on the platform and hop in the cage that Yurt occupied. Use the cage to go down to ground level, where you should simply wait it out until Yurt dies. When you hear him die, simply ride the cage back up to the top. If you decide to battle him head-on and can somehow manage to force him off of the edge of the platform, he will die.

  Collect the Gloom Armor set. After his defeat, he will leave it in a bag for you to pick up. If you defeat him by forcing him off the platform, you must exit the area and upon returning to the area, the Gloom Armor will be on that same platform next to his cage.
