How to Kill Carmax in Borderlands

Once you have played through the main story of Borderlands, completed the level, "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx" and rolled the game's credits, you will face an additional mission, "You. Will. Die." This mission features Crawmerax the Invincible, a heavily armored crab worm that scales his level above your characters. He is notoriously -- and purposefully -- difficult to defeat, but with proper equipment and some special tactics, he can be killed, although few can do this, even prepared, without dying a few times in the process.

Instructions

- 1
  Equip your players with the highest level weapons available in their backpacks. Use shock or Eridian weapons, if you have found some during play.

  Aim for Crawmerax's eyes, the back of his claws, between his pinchers and purple spots to gain critical hits.
- 3
  Allow one player to "tease" Crawmerax, getting his attention, while other characters aim for critical hit spots.
- 4
  Use the pillars as cover during Crawmerax's "purple glob" attacks.
- 5
  Hide in the small cliff crevice to the hard left of the elevator to regain shield and health. Crawmerax cannot see players hidden in this area.
