Stream SopCast to VLC VideoLAN Player
Navigate to sopcast.com/download via your computer's Web browser. Click the "SopCast" download link to download it to your computer. Save the file to your desktop. Double-click the "SopCast" download, and then click "Configure" and "Install" to install the program on your computer.
Double-click the "SopCast" icon to launch the program. Log in as "anonymous" user, and click "Log In."
Click the "Options" button at the bottom of the SopCast screen. Select "Use My Own Media Player." Navigate to the location of your VLC player when prompted to select a media player. Double-click your VLC VideoLAN player.
Stream VLC VideoLAN Player to PS3
Press and hold the power button on your PS3 to turn it on.
Enter "Root" as your username, and type in your administrative password when prompted.
Double-click the "Gnome Terminal" icon at the bottom of the screen to launch the command prompt window.
Type "?yum update" in the command line. This will initiate a download. Wait for the download to complete. Type "?yum install videolan-client?" and wait for the installation of the VLC VideoLan client to complete. Type "Y" to confirm your installation.
Click "File" and "Wizard" on your VLC player on your computer. Click "Stream to Network" and "Next." Select "SopCast" as the client you want to stream, and select the channel under the "Live Channels" tab. Click "UDP Multicast" and type in your computer's network IP address when prompted. Click "Next" and "Finish." You can now view SopCast on your PS3.
