How to Set Up a Multiplayer Match on COD4 on PS3

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a title commonly played on the PlayStation Network. The title's multiplayer mode pits you and your team against another team in a series of "slayer" or "deathmatch" environments, as well as objective gametypes such as traditional capture the flag. Setting up a multiplayer match is a matter of getting online and heading into the multiplayer arena.

Instructions

  Insert the game disc into your PS3 console. Allow it to appear on the Xross Media Bar. Highlight and select the title to begin.

  Scroll to the bottom of the selections on the main menu after the intro trailer to select "Multiplayer." Press the "X" or "Start" button to go online.

  Choose "PlayStation Network" from the next screen by pressing the "X" button.

  Note the two choices. Select "Find Match" to head right into battle after selecting your map choice. Or, choose "Private Match."

  Go to "Game Setup" to alter the map, map mode, rules and whether players can drop in or out while the match is in progress. Select all options with the "X" button. Press the "O" button to go back one step at any time.
