How to Kill the Swamp Monster in Castlevania for the PS3

"Castlevania: Lords of Shadow" is an action-adventure game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox. Over the course of the game, the player will travel through haunted locales and kills both undead and fantasy monsters. The second level is The Dead Bog, where the player wanders through the swamp while a monster will stalk and harass him -- though it doesn't show its face until the end of the level. This beast is the Swamp Troll and it packs a strong punch, despite being slow and clumsy. The player can exploit this weakness to win the battle.

Instructions

- 1
  Push the "X" button to leap when the Swamp Troll smashes the ground. This tremor attack can reach you even if you're standing far away, though its effect does diminish over a medium to long distance. The best way to avoid it is by jumping. This also gives you an opportunity to return the attack.
- 2
  Press the "Square" button while jumping to perform the Guillotine attack. At this point in the game, it's your most powerful attack.

  Run away from the troll after you land, maintaining a distance of three to four body lengths. This prompts the troll to charge you like a bull. While charging, he's fast but can't easily change his direction.
- 4
  Sidestep the troll when you gets close to you. As you charges past, turn toward him and repeatedly press the "Square" button to unleash attacks on him.
- 5
  Run away from him again and wait for another charge.
