How to Pair a PS3 & a DVD Remote

The Sony PS3 (PlayStation 3) is well-known video game system that doubles as a Blu-ray and DVD movie player. It is often easier to control movies on the PS3 with a separately sold PS3 remote (or a PS3 compatible remote) rather than the PS3 game controller. In order to allow the PS3 and remote to communicate wirelessly, you need to pair the two items before the first use.

  Remove the back cover from the PS3 compatible remote and insert the provided batteries. Replace the cover.

  Turn on your PS3 system and navigate to the "Settings" menu from the main screen. Scroll down the "Settings" menu and press the "X" button over "Accessory Settings."

  Scroll to the "Register Bluetooth Device" option and press "X" to select it.

  Press the "O" key on your PS3 controller.

  Select the "Blu-ray Disc Remote Control" option, then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing.
