How to Unlock Johnny in Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus

"Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops" for the PSP offers a standalone expansion pack named "Portable Ops Plus," which provides additional missions in single-player mode and allows you to unlock various past characters from previous "Metal Gear" games. How you complete the game determines which characters you can unlock. One of these characters is Johnny, a minor character who appeared in "Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater."

Instructions

  Begin a game. Enter your name if you are starting a new game. Select "Extreme Mode" at the mission select screen. Johnny is more likely to appear in this mode.

  Select your team. Build a team with the highest trained characters as they will be most helpful to you in extreme mode. Use spies to include more detail on the mission map, as you'll be looking for prisoners in their cells.

  Check your map when you enter each stage. Prisoners will appear as an icon resembling cage bars.

  Go to a cell with a prisoner. Johnny is mostly indistinguishable from other prisoners, but he will have a "J" on his ski mask.

  Evacuate Johnny to the waiting truck outside as soon as possible.
