How to Earn Badges on the Sims 2

"The Sims 2: Open for Business" game allows players to use badges in relation to skills. Sims need skills to get jobs, and each badge relates to different fields, such as cleaning or creativity. Talent badges allow Sims to craft items, too. As you craft, you gain more badge points, which leads your Sim to earn higher badges. Workbenches are the key ingredient used to craft items, which originally started with "The Sims: Livin' Large." However, in "Sims 2: Open for Business," the workbench relates to your specific skill in the form of a workstation.

Obtain any items necessary to complete the crafting activity. For example, for a Robotics badge, a Sim needs a "Robot Crafting Station," which is 2,000 dollars. Likewise, if you want the Cosmetology badge, you need the Ug-No-More Makeover Station, which is 1,200 dollars.

Perform a crafting activity to gain a badge. Crafting activities depend on where you are in the game and what kind of Sim you play. However, some badges attainable in "Open for Business" are Cosmetology, Flower Arranging, Register or Cashiering, Restocking, Robotics, Sales or Toy Making.

Continue crafting items to achieve higher-level badges. Sims start with a "No Talent Badge," then move up to bronze, silver and gold, the highest talent badge. As you grow to a higher badge level, your Sim creates better items, such as a Servo, or robotic Sim, available to Sims with a gold badge in Robotics.

Look for a newspaper at your Sim's house, or if you have a computer for your Sim, use it to look up jobs. Apply for a job at a business related to your highest skills.
