I bought a psp with 3.80 fw know cant put games on memory stick if have this version my settings saw link that said update ver 2.00 do does mean new will be 2.00?

Let's break this down. You've got a PSP with firmware 3.80, and you're having trouble putting games on your memory stick. You've seen a link suggesting updating to version 2.00.

Here's the key:

* 3.80 is a higher firmware version than 2.00. You can't go *backwards* in firmware versions.

* Updating to 2.00 would not make your PSP have version 2.00. It would likely just result in an error or a brick.

Here's what you should do:

1. Understand the issue: Firmware 3.80 likely means your PSP is in official mode, which restricts game loading to the PlayStation Store. You'll need to use custom firmware.

2. Research custom firmware: Look up information on installing CFW for your PSP model and firmware version.

3. Find a reliable guide: Make sure to use a trusted source like the PSP Wiki or a reputable forum.

4. Back up your data: Always back up your important files before doing any firmware modifications.

Important Note: Be very careful when installing custom firmware. A wrong step could brick your PSP. Make sure you understand the process and follow the instructions precisely.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
