How to Modify the Second Generation Rock Band Guitar

Open your Internet browser and navigate to a site that produces Rock Band guitar controller skins (see Resources). These are stickers and decals that fit over various parts of the guitar.

Search the site for skins that interest you. Make sure to search for skins that are applicable to your particular controller. For example if you have the Fender Stratocaster model controller, you will want to look for Stratocaster skins. If you have a Les Paul model controller, you will need to look for a skins compatible with the Les Paul.

Select the skins you would like and complete the purchase. Some sites have an option to design your own skins with tool and color templates. Once finished designing the skins you can purchase them and have them sent to you just like the standard skins.

Peel the skins off their paper and fit them over the guitar. If you have a body skin, it will be in the shape of the controller body. If you have a fret skins, they will be smaller, rectangular skins in the shape of a fret on the neck. Pickguard skins will fit directly over the pickguard.

Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws on the pickguard on the front of the guitar controller.

Spray paint the pickguard the color of your choice. You can also use hobby paint to create different designs on the pickguard. Once the paint is dry, replace the pickguard and screws.
