Instructions
Remove the six screw covers and their corresponding screws on the back of the PS2.
Unclip and open the PS2 above the controller ports. This will allow the PS2 to be separated into two equal halves, opening like a door.
Locate the disc brake. This is on the top half of the PS2 at the rear of the disc drive. Unscrew the brake and remove the spring as well as the brake (which will be located on the inside of the disc-drive).
Find the two disc sensors on the inside of the PS2. One sensor is located near the disc laser, and the other sensor is located in the front right corner of the PS2. Using a small piece of duct tape, tape over each sensor (use the screwdriver and your fingers to help). Be careful not to scratch the PS2's interior with your screwdriver.
Test the PS2 by plugging it into the wall (make sure the screwdriver and your fingers are not touching the inside of the console). Place a normal DVD or game disc inside the PS2 and turn on the console. The disc should begin to spin automatically; if it does not spin, this is because the sensors were not taped over correctly.
Turn off the PS2 and unplug it from the wall. Put the two halves of the console together and clip them into place. Screw back in the six screws and their adjacent screw-covers.
Plug the PS2 into the wall. Insert a DVD SwapMagic into the open disc drive and turn on the console. When the SwapMagic DVD stops spinning and the SwapMagic screen appears, remove the SwapMagic DVD and insert a backup copy of a PS2 game into the disc drive. Press X. You should now be able to play backup copies of games on your PS2.
