Things You'll Need
Instructions
Disconnect the ends of your PS2 power from the console and wall outlet.
Cut through the power cord on either side of the crimp using a pair of wire cutters. There should be approximately 1/2 inch of healthy wire between each cut and the bent cord. Discard the crimped section.
Strip both newly cut wire ends with a pair of wire strippers. The goal is to remove 1 1/2 inch of the rubber outer sheathing from both wires contained within. Once the outer sheathing is removed, strip both internal wires so that 1 inch of the copper within is exposed from each end.
Twist the copper together from either wire, ensuring that each twist contains copper wire from sheathing of the same color. Most PS2 power cords contain red and black wires, or black and white wires.
Insert the twisted copper wire into wire nuts. Twist the wire nuts the same direction you twisted the copper wire to lock the wire nuts in place.
Bend the wire nuts in opposite directions so that each is running down the length of the cord.
Wrap the splice with electrical tape. Ensure that all wire nuts, exposed wires and exposed copper is completely wrapped and hidden from view. Your splice will look a bit bulky, and your cord with be a bit shorter, but the newly established connections will restore power to your PS2.
