DIY PS2 Controller to USB

The Sony PlayStation 2 controller does not have a standard USB plug, but it can still be used on a PC. While a skilled technician can convert the PS2's cable to a USB cable, the average person can use an adapter to achieve the same result. As of July 2010, the adapter costs around $10. Before playing any game using the adapter, you must install the drivers on the installation disc included in the packaging.

Instructions

    • 1

Slide the CD that accompanied the adapter into the PC. Follow the onscreen instructions and install the drivers.

    • 2

Connect the USB port on the PS2 to USB adapter into an open port on a PC.

    • 3

Connect the controller port into the other end of the adapter.

    • 4

Turn on the game you want to play. Go to the controller settings options and configure the PS2 controller.
