Things You'll Need
Instructions
Hold the disc around the edge and place it under some cold running water. Allow the water to wash over the entire surface of the disc. Always try to hold your PlayStation discs around the edge, as this will prevent smudges and fingerprints.
Dry the game disc with a microfiber cloth. It is important that you use a soft, nonabrasive cloth in order to avoid scratching the disc.
Spray the PlayStation disc with some common household window cleaner. This will help remove any leftover, oil-based smudges and dirt. Again, use a microfiber cloth to dry the PS2 disc.
Apply a bit of car wax to a clean, dry microfiber cloth and softly polish the surface of the disc. Begin at the center hole and work your way out one section at a time using a side-to-side motion.
Allow the car wax to dry. Remove it using another clean, dry microfiber cloth.
If you notice any small scratches on your PlayStation 2 disc, you need to undertake more drastic measures. Proceed with Steps 1 through 3 as normal. Before you apply the car wax, place a dab of Brasso on a microfiber cloth. Starting from the hole, gently polish the surface using a side-to-side motion. Do not rub the disc in a circular motion. If your disc only has one noticeable scratch, you can focus on it rather than covering the entire disc. After applying Brasso, run some cold water over the disc and dry it with a microfiber cloth and proceed with applying the car wax.
